New iMacs

Monday, April 28th, 2008

Apple has just rejuvenated their iMac line with a faster Intel Core 2 Duo processor, it has also been rated a 4.0 by Energy Star for having a low power consumption.

They are now available in 3 different forms, you can buy a 20-inch with 2.4 GHz, a 20-inch with 2.66 GHz, or a 24-inch with 2.8 GHz. The first model comes with 128MB of memory, while the other two come with 256MB of memory. Now if that’s not enough for you, you can either configure it to support more memory, or just special order a 24-inch 3GHz, with 2G of memory and 500G of hard drive.

They also come with a more powerful graphics processor, which has always been my favorite part of Macs.

New Mini Laptop

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

We just bought an Asus Eee Pc, which is a mini notebook with a 7 inch screen, and weighs about 3 lbs. It’s nice and fits easily in my purse. I’m using it right now, it’s perfect for blogging.

This new laptop of mine uses Linux, which is very simple and easy to use. I actually like it much better than Window’s. It has a built in camera and microphone, and comes with Skype pre-installed, which also works great.

All it has is 4G of storage and 512MB Ram, but because of it uses a flash drive and no hard drive, it is very fast, and connects great to wireless internet.

New Unlimited Skype Plans

Monday, April 21st, 2008

Skype is now offering unlimited calling service for the U.S., Canada, and 34 other countries. This new service is offered for landlines and cell phones in US and Canada for about $3 a month. As for calling the other 34 countries, their plan offers unlimited international calls for a whopping $10 a month!

Earlier this month, there was talk about Ebay selling Skype due to the problems they were having generating income from this well known free communications site. But Skype’s new chief executive stepped right in and came up with this new plan, brushing off all other rumors about selling, and fixing the problem instead.
