Stabilizing Pictures

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

Sick of your pictures coming out blurry? If you don’t own a professional camera then it is probable that yes. There are some ways to minimize this from happening. First you need to understand your cameras focus system. Most cameras focus when you hold the shutter key halfway down, if you skip this step most likely your picture will come out bad.

Stability is the next most important part, the use of a tripod, or using both hands while leaning against something always helps. Many cameras now are using “image stabilization” to reduce the chance of your picture coming out blurry.

Backlighting also will destroy your photos, it will flood your lens and cameras have a hard time compensating. If you absolutely can’t avoid it, then use your flash. If you use these tips, your pictures should come out much better, and clearer.

Song Lyrics for Ipods

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

Ok so I’m kinda a nerd and I like to sing in the shower. Well… in order to sing I need to know all the lyrics, right? Well, I just found out that you can add lyrics to your music files on your ipod! Just like you can add album art, there is a special field where you can insert the lyrics.

Anyways, as you can see, I’m pretty stoked about this new lil’ tool. It’s pretty easy too. All you have to do is when you’re in Itunes, select a track, choose File, then click on Get Info, and open the Lyrics tab. Once that is opened, there will be a large field where you can copy and paste the lyrics! I find all my favorite lyrics at azlyrics.com

After all this is done, when you’re listening to your Ipod, click on the middle button four times and Wah-Lah!! You’ve got your favorite lyrics on the screen!!

Racetrack Memory

Sunday, April 13th, 2008

IBM has recently developed a new type of memory storage device they are calling Racetrack memory. It’s supposed to hold up to 100 times more information than hard drives and flash drives do. So if they used this new memory in an Ipod it would be able to hold up to 500,000 songs, whereas the highest capacity now in an Ipod is 40,000.

Racetrack memory uses similar technology to Flash, in that they don’t use any moving parts, which eliminates the chance of it crashing and losing all the memory. But, it is much better because you can rewrite on the memory an unlimited number of times without it wearing down unlike Flash drives.

Sounds like a pretty cool deal for storing memory, but they still have yet to perfect it, so it is said to not be coming out for a few more years. :-/
