Halo Carries Xbox On Its Back

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

I think most people would agree that the Halo series has carried the Xbox on it’s back. No other game in history can claim as much. If Halo was not exclusive to Xbox there is no way that Xbox would be projected to be the number 1 console by the end of the year. Industry experts have the Nintendo Wii leading the competition with the Xbox and the PS3 tied for second.  But with the release of Halo 3 and a possible price reduction in the Xbox for the holiday season, that is expected to change.  It’s really quite amazing what on game has done for it’s console.

Halo 3 is out

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

It’s official! Halo 3 has been released and the reviews are saying it’s worth the hype. I remember playing Halo when it first came out and being completely blown away. The “game-play” of Halo was unprecedented. The graphics were amazing and the unique story line was great and easy to follow. Now it’s time for the 3rd chapter and If the game is even as good as the first two then I will be happy. So far, from what I have read, it is.

Microsoft Xbox price cut is a good idea

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

The $50 price cut on the Microsoft Xbox gaming consoles is a great idea. I say that not just because I’m a consumer. It’s a great strategy. Sony announced they would cut the price on their 60GB playstation 3 model but received a lot of criticism when it became know that the reason for the price cut was that they had taken the 60GB model out of production and would replace it with an 80GB model at a higher price. While Microsoft, on the other hand, is pretty straight forward about their reasons for price reduction; reach a broader audience, keep the price distance from PS3, and close the price gap on Nintendo Wii.

Now, when you’re looking to purchase a gaming console, and your heart isn’t already set on one system, you will see that the prices for each console are: $249 for Wii, $279 for Xbox, and $499 for PS3. That PS3 had better be twice the system if they expect me to pay twice as much for it and I just don’t think they have achieved that.  My money would definitely go with Xbox or Wii.  And I’m still not sold on the Wii wand so I would go with the Xbox.
