Remote access: RemotePC vs GoToMyPC
When it comes to remote access solutions their are plenty of options but I think it is pretty safe to say that there are two companies that have separated themselves from the pack. RemotePC and GoToMyPC.
As with many other cases, when ever you have two companies competing in the same industry they will try to differentiate themselves. So in this case you have GoToMyPC which offers a little more in the way of options and different plans. And the you have RemotePC which provides a lot of the same services at considerably cheaper price. RemotePC does offer solutions for individuals and small business and has a nice Remote Meeting service that allows 10 participants that they offer for about $20/month. GoToMyPc also has a nice remote meeting service that allows 15 participants but you will jump in cost to $50/month.
Looking at just the basic remote access plans, you can get the Remote Access service from RemotePC for as little as $5/month compared to $20/month for GoToMyPc. So if you haven’t picked a service yet or your not even sure if it’s service you really need, then it makes sense to start with RemotePC and save a lot of money. Or if your like me then you will almost always choose the service that costs less, as long as they provide a comparable service.
