It looks like former allies Steve Jobs and Universal Music chief Doug Morris are beginning to part ways. After some disagreements about how record companies can market their music Morris has decided not to resign a multi year contract to continue to sell his companies music on Itunes. Morris is trying to work on another option to sell it’s music online and become a competitor to Apple. But Morris doesn’t have it in place yet so you can still find Universal Music on Itunes.
Morris is looking to team up with other large record companies such as Sony BMG Music Entertainment and Warner Music Group to provide a subscription based service that would give unlimited access to the music for a monthly fee. They are also looking at providing their music in a format that would be much easier to share with other devices, unlike the Itunes music which is very limited that way.
