Why you can’t find The Office on Itunes

I was wondering why I couldn’t find one of my favorite tv shows “The Office” on Itunes this season. The past 2 seasons have been available and all of the sudden, season 3 is no where to be found. I did a little research and found that NBC and Itunes were not able to come to an agreement on pricing for the show. It sounds like NBC wanted to charge more than the usual $1.99 for “The Office” which has been the most popular tv download for Itunes. So NBC is taking their ball and going home. I think it’s pretty lame. NBC looks greedy. The reason The Office has been a best seller is because it’s the best show offered on Itunes and it’s still a reasonable price. If you start raising that price to 4 or 5 dollars per show then people won’t pay for it.

NBC will now look to provide their shows for download for free for 7 days following the airing of a show. After the 7 days, your download of that show will expire and will not be usable. If you want a permanent version at that point you would have to pay for it. Not sure what the pricing will be yet but you can count on more that $1.99. I think NBC is a little foolish here. You already have an easy to use system that dominates the market in Itunes. Is it worth going away from that. They will now have to develop their own system that works on both PC’s and Mac’s, make people aware of it, and convince them to come and use it.
