Sales Dropping

Despite the fact that experts thought HD-DVD sales were dropping because of the increasing popularity of Blu-ray players, these sales have taken a dive also. The NPD group, that tracks retail sales, have reported Blu-ray sales have decreased 40% from January to February, and a have had slight 2% increase from February to March.

As for HD-DVD players, sales only dropped 13% from January to February, but a whopping 65% from February to March. Which apparently was predicted, and production for these had been stopped back in February.

Now, why didn’t the Blu-ray players take off like they thought they would? Analysts are now saying that most likely consumers are turned off by their high prices (about $400), and can’t justify replacing their regular DVD player, for a Blu-ray. Most people are just too comfortable with what they already have, especially for that price. I know I am.
